Excellent initiative by CRC Guwahati

I have participated in a national webinar on 'Vocational Rehabilitation on Socioeconomic Development of Persons with Disability (PWD) during and after COVID-19'. The webinar organized by the Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Guwahati, which is a part of the Government of India. During this webinar, all experts discussed the various entrepreneurship models and employment opportunities available for PWD in the open marketplace. It is an excellent initiative towards 'Atma Nirbhar Bharat,' 'Make in India', and 'Vocal for Local'. The webinar explored that government staffing and welfare schemes boost the PWD, but the economy provides significant opportunities to PWD for self-sustaining. Likewise, PWD can start work from home, and self-marketing is vital for the advancement of the commercial enterprise. Online portals and social media platforms are beneficial to initiate occupation. PWD, who are in urban or rural areas, can work according to their skills. A few government schemes provide financial assistance for PWDs. The need of the hour is that we all support PWDs to push up their socio-economic development. A little cooperation and guidance should play an indispensable role in the achievements of PWDs for a self-dependent life.
