The editorial appearing in your daily of August 2 ''Priorities for AASU" is a very well written one. The suggestion incorporated in the editorial is to be followed by the AASU.
Of late, the AASU has lost the faith the people of Assam to some extent. There was a time when at the call from the AASU people, irrespective of cast, creed and ages would come out to the street and do whatever the AASU wanted them to do democratically without even fear of the police brutality. As suggested in the editorial, the AASU should remain apolitical, and work for the safeguard of the local Assamese people, their language and culture.
