GMC a cashless transaction?

In the fore noon of Dec 16, I went to Guwahati Municipality Corporation's office, situated at Super Market , Dispur to pay house tax. Since I did not have cash in hand, I wanted to pay with my card. However, it was to my utter surprise that GMC is yet to make provision for cashless transactions. When I met higher official to this effect, he simply said, "We have no arrangement for the same". It amused me rather than getting angry with the official for making a casual remark. My question is if an organization like GMC can't make above arrangement, how one can expect petty shopkeepers to make cashless transaction for selling small items. On the other hand the Prime Minister Modiji is harping upon everyone to go cashless. The above depicts how reality doesn't go in tandem with rhetoric! Therefore, urge for a radical change must first brew within every individual. There is no short cut to this!

Unconstitutiol act of Axom Xahitya Xabha

Appropos my Letter to the Editor which appeared in your esteemed daily on December 3 on the need to rejuvete the Axom Xahitya Xabha, it now transpires that the existing Central Committee and the President of the Xabha have given themselves an extension of one year violating the Constitution of the Xabha and this act of theirs is unconstitutiol and can be challenged in a Court of Law. In this context, the public has expressed their anguish in no uncertain terms and I hope the Central Committee would respect public opinion and step aside for fresh elections. Gentlemen excuse themselves and leave others to be shown the door. No one is indispensable and that is a fact.
