Incident of GMCH

The editorial published in your daily on 13th June, 2020 and the news published on the same paper on the previous day is really very painful. Doctors who join the profession with an aim to serve the mankind should never forget the professional ethics. At a time when doctors throughout the world, including our own country and for that matter our own state, are working tirelessly to treat the COVID positive patients endangering their own life, the attitude of a few doctors from the premier medical institute of the state is highly condemnable. If the doctors had any problem in attending the patient admitted for other ailment excluding COVID they should have brought it to the notice of higher authority about their problem, rather than let the patient suffer and leading to untimely death of a number of them. The most dynamic Health Minister had visited GMCH a number of times during that period and the doctors could have easily brought the same to his notice as he is easily approachable. It is our firm belief that he would have solved their problem on the spot making it easy for that a section of doctors in treating patients. We hope and pray that similar incident does not recur in future.
