Inscrutable China

Can a leopard change its spots? So also China is one never to be taken into confidence as secretly it can harm all its neighbours by pretending to be a friend. In the past we noticed that whenever the bitter relation with China improves India took a lenient approach to that nation which always remains inscrutable as ever. Right from the days of Nehru India always maintained a complacence. The surrender of a part of Kashmir to Pakistan (PoK) and the crushing defeat in the war with China in 1962 could not open the eyes of the politicians during the Congress regime. The regime of Dr. Manmohan Singh could do pretty little to consolidate our defence system. But the present incumbent Narendra Modi already could show his mettle in strengthening our defence. But so long as India is not self-sufficient to produce all the sophisticated lethal weapons, we cannot feel secure. The sooner we can abandon all the Chinese products the better. There might be a bilateral agreement on Ladakh for withdrawal of army by both India and China but we never believe China is not one to give up its claim of Arunachal Pradesh. India should always maintain a tough notion towards China.
