International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21 June every year to mark the importance of Yoga and how beneficial it is for good health. Yoga is a physical, spiritual and mental practice that originated in India and has been practised by people across the world for good physical and mental health. 'Yoga' is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in wellbeing. Our PM Modi has always realized the advantage of Yoga. Yoga is our heritage and has been practised since centuries. But in modern times, its popularity started fading away. To re-popularize the Indian culture among in the world, India went to UN. It came up with a resolution in 2014 to celebrate International Yoga Day and spread awareness about Yoga and its benefits in the world. Since then, June 21 is celebrated as 'International Yoga Day'.
