Judging merit of CBSE & AHSEC HS passed

Through your esteemed daily I want to bring attention of the authorities concerned of the education sector to a very serious issue. As results of Higher Secondary examinations have been announced, it's time for students to start their new journey. A news report is being circulated regarding seat crisis in various undergraduate courses. Till date some colleges have already released their first provisional merit lists, but we get to see very less number of AHSEC board students compared to CBSE board students. Due to the difference in the marking system or due to lack of sufficient seats many students are facing a serious problem regarding their career as they are not getting seats mainly in colleges of Guwahati where most of the schools are CBSE-based ones. We students are tomorrow's future but at this time our future is at risk!

The average students are almost helpless and have lost all hope. Some parents are not also very financially supportive towards studying their children in private institutions and therefore it's a very tough situation for us. If as it would luck have it now this pandemic we would have started our college this time, then where would all these students go for their higher studies.

So with due respect I want to request the authority to seek some help into this problem as soon as possible. We request for separate merit lists of AHSEC students and CBSE students or different marking system for both boards in time of admission or any other means that can be taken for welfare of each student, otherwise the students' future will be at stake.

Mangaldai.
