Letters to the Editor

Farewell, Assam Hero Bhaskar!

We have lost a great warrior. He had taken oath to save the land and he tried his best. But his martyrdom has revealed many sides of the protection and security of the police of the State right now. People are showing outrages against the previous government that provided these bullet-proof jackets that are right now under question. But how many of us will remember him in the coming days, that is a big question. People will forget him and the issue will disappear. Many other heroes will be killed like this. That is why the present government should order an investigation against all persons who were related in providing such bullet-proof jackets. This government should ensure that no more heroes will die even after a bullet hits some bullet-proof jacket. I also thank the Chief Minister of Assam for providing a compensation of Rs 20 lakh and salary to Kalita's wife until his retirement. This will definitely boost the fighting spirit of the warriors.

Firdaus Ahmed,

AB Constable, Assam Police.

Real Life Villain

Bollywood has thrown up so many onscreen villains over the years who in reality have been perfect gentlemen, and a few have displayed exemplary patriotism in crisis hours as well. Notable actors like Pran and Amrish Puri, who hit the screen with their onscreen grey character performances, were genuinely gentlemen in their personal lives.

One Prakash Raj, an established actor from southern India who is also known for portraying grey roles in movies, is making headlines. He is a diehard fan of Rahul Gandhi and a strong critic of the current government at the Centre. He is supporting the agitating students of Aligarh Muslim University who are opposing the removal of Jinnah's portrait from the university campus.

Thanks to BJP MP Dr Subramanium Swamy who simply tore apart a real life villain named Prakash Raj in a debate on one of the leading news channels of the nation. People like Prakash Raj are simply the tip of an iceberg of the Bollywood industry who have betrayed the nation time and again.

Himadri Chekanidhara,

Bihpuria, North Lakhimpur.
