Assam's development, expansion of ministry etc

There is a serious allegation against the State government led by BJP that the development promised by the party before election is yet to materialise. Is this government letting down the people? Pathetic condition of most of roads, non-payment of dues to contractors, failure to come to the rescue and rehabilitation of flood-affected people, failure to take care of government-owned hospitals, failure to take stock of the situation arising out of serious unemployment, failure to curb the flow of infiltration along the porous border with Bangladesh are some of the factors which disturb the people of the State. The allegation has been brought against the BJP by MLAs of allied parties along with some of its own MLAs that the State BJP has miserably failed to bring funds from the Centre, as a result of which the much-promised development of the State has received a severe setback. Our Fince minister owes an explation to the people of the State for the difference between what he says and what he does. We fully endorse the allegation brought against the ruling party by the MLAs that development work has suffered due to lack of adequate funds and non-expansion of the tiny ministry. The efficacy of some of the ministers is questioble, as they are seemingly uble to bear the brunt of the several portfolios held by them. The expansion of the ministry is long overdue, a point ignored by the Central leadership of the BJP.

Unregulated speed-breakers posing serious risk

All new cars/vehicles need to pass speed breakers test without any jerk in India. Is this possible? The Delhi High Court had directed agencies and civic bodies in June 2016 and further recently to remove all speed breakers that do not conform to regulation or are uuthorized. The court also said that plastic or PVC speed breakers must be removed if these fail to conform to guidelines and if these haven’t been cleared by traffic police. This order is not complied with in most roads, including interior roads of most colonies. There is no action on contempt of court's order, which is a dangerous for law and order as many others will not follow the court’s order on other issues too.

Due to non-standardized speed breakers, these structures can aggravate commuters' backache problems. It is nowadays a problem faced even at younger age, especially after 40, and it poses danger to senior citizens. Some speed breakers are even dangerous to walk over! These are worse than horse riding jhatkas.  Also, vehicles run the risk of being damaged. It is the people who are being inconvenienced under the pretext of traffic control and security. The problem of speed breakers is present all over the country.
