Sachin made scapegoat

The 'God of Cricket' Sachin Tendulkar needs no introduction in India and in global cricketing arena. He is the youngest Indian to represent the country in test cricket and holder of many cricketing records which are still standing like Mount Everest. Soon after the legend decided to bid adieu to cricket the then UPA government under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh conferred him with the highest civilian honour of the country, Bharat Ratna. Apart from his heroics on the field, Sachin Tendulkar was admired for his off-field behaviour. Now, the same Congress is questioning his integrity after he tweeted 'India Stand United' after he raised objection to the interference of foreign celebrities in the ongoing farmers protest in the national capital. The batting maestro's effigies are burnt by the Opposition parties that included the Congress. The NCP leader Sharad Pawar who was a cabinet minister in the UPA government when Sachin Tendulkar was conferred with Bharat Ratna now has become a big enemy of Tendulkar. We stand with Sachin Tendulkar who is an icon who loves his motherland.

Dr Ashim Chowdhury,

Guwahati.
