COVID vaccination

India has achieved the milestone of vaccinating more than 20 crore people of its population in 130 days and has become the second country after the US to reach this figure. No small achievement for a vast country like ours. The figures would have been much better had the country maintained the pace of inoculation at the level it was started.

Domestic wastes

The GMC deploys its workers for sweeping roads and clearing wastes accumulation on weekdays only. It is not unknown that a part of household wastes is thrown on the roadside and divider every morning and these are swept up along with the sweeping of roads on weekdays. But household wastes that are piled up on Sundays and holidays spread filth around and the stray animals make the area dirty. The decomposed wastes thus contaminate the area with stink and nauseating effect which is a lasting hazard to public health and hygiene. The attention of the city civic authority is drawn with an earnest appeal to take immediate measure to line up extra hands for clearing wastes on off days or a strict restriction is enforced on throwing domestic wastes on the roads.
