Downfall of Moghul

As far as Indian history is concerned, the main reason for the downfall of mighty Moghul dysty was Emperor Shahjahan. His extravaganza in constructing the Taj Mahal, at the cost of empire’s exchequer, was one of the chief reasons for gradual downfall of the dysty.

In order to acquire knowledge concerning the architectural beauty of the monument, one should leaf through the pages of history. But, unfortutely, the very subject of history is thrown out of the syllabus. However, it’s a subject that can be a great teacher and source of wisdom.

Resolve pay hike and attendance issue

Time and again, news is being telecast on electronic media, exposing the dismal instance of discipline and decorum relating to the attendance in offices under the State government by its employees. It seems the ministers are taking the matter very lightly. Announcements are being made in the press releases, cautioning the employees. This is the only step the ministers take to overcome the issue. It is a shame when the employees put forth their excuses. Earlier too, it was pointed out to the officials to have a look at the discipline and decorum maintained by their counterparts in banks and Central government offices. One can blame the ministers, the deputy commissioners and heads of departments (HODs) of the concerned offices for this indiscipline. But interestingly, there is no sign of Basab Kalita, the messiah of the employees, who is always vocal against the State government, whenever he sees a shortfall in the grade-pay and the likes. Why does he not raise his voice asking the employees to ensure discipline in attendance? We never objected to the demand of equality in salary with their counterparts in the Central government. But can they simultaneously be a match with their counterparts in banks and all other Central government employees? We appeal to our Chief Minister to take a tough stand to end the issue of indiscipline prevailing in State government offices.
