False Promise

Generally, we attribute no importance to the different agitation programmes launched by the Congress party against the present dispensation at Dispur.

Only the other day, Rajya Sabha Congress MP Rani rah after appearing suddenly from hiatus, while criticizing the State Congress leadership, passed certain unsavoury comments on AICC president Ripon Borah, referring to his stint in Tihar jail.

Our purpose here is not to churn the interl strife of the party. Now, even critics like us are prompted to harbour a soft corner for the Congress party, noting certain acts of the present State government.

The agreement with NSCN (IM) is not yet made public although the BJP always claims that it maintains transparency. While the people of Manipur along with the ruling dispensation of the State are up in arms to foil any attempts to include lands of Manipur in galim, our State government maintains a nonchalant attitude towards this burning problem, allowing the galand government to establish good number of villages well within the Assam's territory. Significantly, the BJP repeats the mistake committed by its predecessor. Even the Union Surface Transport Minister let the gullible people of Assam down. We hold Nitin Gadkari solely responsible for the dilapidated condition of roads and the communication in the interior areas of Assam for want of bridges. We find no difference between both the BJP and Congress. We notice no change as promised by the BJP before election. Will the party ever clarify?

Indians tiol anthem

India's tiol anthem commands a lot of respect and importance. It should not be misused. We only request those in power to stop making a mockery of it by playing it at cinema halls and other places of entertainment. It's saddening to see people talking over the phone and eating, when the anthem is being played. Our anthem is not a frivolous thing that can be played anywhere or any time.
