Demonetisation: A year on

The NDA government might have undertaken demonetisation to tackle various challenges ranging from terrorism to black money, but the step was not entirely a success due to the government's incapability to tackle these well. The step was taken with a view to having benefits in the long run but the harsh short-term consequences of undertaking this policy ended up creating havoc across the tion.

It did not do much good in reducing black money as well. Moreover, GDP growth rate, which is the sole criteria of the NDA government to show development in India, has also slowed down. The RBI incurred much expense in printing new currency notes that have already been counterfeited. The government may defend this step for all its worth, but the sad reality is that demonetisation has been a failure.

Rarest of rare crime

The barbaric, brutal rape and  murder of Sweta Agarwal, a brilliant B.Com student aalegedly by her  classmate and fiance with his mother and sister as accomplices is a rarest of rare crime and the culprits should be awarded the strongest  punishment and be hanged unto death as per law of the land. This is a dastardly and cold-blooded murder as per reports in the media. I would like to request the investigating agency and police to frame watertight charge-sheet against the culprits so that they may not go scot free by exploiting the loopholes and technicalities in our legal system.
