Lessons not learnt

After Himachal Pradesh and Gujrat poll debacles, the Congress has not been able to come to terms with the ground reality. They are questioning the Election Commission's integrity, as the newly elected MLA Jignesh Mewani is repeatedly questioning the authenticity of the EVM machines used in the polls.

It is well understood that defeat is a bitter pill to swallow but it reflects the poor mentality of a few opposition Congress leaders, who are questioning the integrity of an autonomous body like the ECI.

Apart from that, the Congress’s ploy of stalling Parliament sessions on some flimsy grounds is condemble too as it puts burden on the tion’s coffers.

It is time to introspect for Rahul Gandhi and company as well as to prepare a roadmap for the future rather than hoodwinking the public and making fools of themselves.

Short lived euphoria!

The recent judgement of Patiala House in regards to the 2G scam can be a short lived euphoria for the UPA allies, more particularly for the DMK and Congress. No doubt the current ruling will make every Congressman euphoric as the century-old party is plagued by innumerable scams shaking the tion’s exchequer. The Patiala House judgement never made us believe that a Daniel has come to judgement. We the taxpayers stand by the 2G scam which took place during the UPA’s tenure.

One hopes that the present false sense of wellbeing (euphoria) of Congressmen is short lived and the guilty will be locked behind bars.

Lanu Dutta Chowdhury,
