Contradictory stand

It has never occurred to me that I should always compare the previous regime of Congress led by Tarun Gogoi with present one. In fact, each time a corrupt official amassing fabulous wealth is caught and jailed, I become happy beyond measure. By degrees, the corrupt officials are finding their new abode in jail. Nevertheless, Tarun Gogoi, the erstwhile CM is always blowing his trumpet on the small screen. Now, following the saying, ‘My enemy’s enemy is my friend, Sri Gogoi tries to woo and win over Akhil Gogoi, making an alliance with him, exactly the way, Gujrat Congress did with Hardik Patel and Alpesh Thakur. Of course, we must refrain from commenting as politics make strange bed follows. Why at all did the ex-Congress CM protect the likes of Rakesh Paul? Did he encourage corruption? But all these don’t suggest that BJP-led State government is flawless. In fact, functioning of the said government leaves much to be desired. But certain news relating to non-release of adequate fund from the Centre is an ominous sign for the people of Assam. A recent news published in a leading vercular daily corroborate our contention.

The Central leadership talks of development projecting a rosy picture, but in practice, particularly in the release of funds, it always maintains a close fisted attitude. We got ample manifestation of this during the time of floods. We appeal to the Central BJP leadership to ascertain, ‘Action should speak louder than words’.

Rival politicians play politics, resulting in disrupted costly Parliamentary proceedings

It refers to Union Fince Minister on 27 December last in Rajya Sabha reading a conciliatory script giving perfect clean chit to former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on his joining a dinner hosted by Mani Shanker Aiyer with some prominent Pakistanis, so as to successfully break the stalemate in Rajya Sabha which resulted in full disruption last week over Prime Minister Modi criticising Dr Singh for joining the said dinner, during his election campaign in Gujarat. Top politicians must think twice before speaking especially in public. It is regretting that Indian politicians play politics just for exhibition of rivalry in public with an eye on votes. It is clear that Union Fince Minister totally changed in letter and spirit of what the PM said in Gujarat on Dr Manmohan Singh joining dinner with prominent Pakistanis.
