A busy man indeed!

The post-poll scenario in Assam has exposed one man who at this moment appears to be the busiest in Assam. He is the lone member of a newly-formed regional political party who was undergoing treatment for an undiagnosed ailment in GMCH. He was occupying a deluxe-paying cabin of GMCH for more than a year at the expense of the State's taxpayers' hard-earned money.

Mysteriously, till now nobody knows the diagnosis of his ailment as mentioned earlier. During his stay at GMCH, he had many parleys with all the leading political parties' top leaders before the last assembly election in the State. Even though he was discharged from his unknown prolonged 'illness', he straightway drove from GMCH to Sivsagar by road and started interacting with his party workers throughout the day and night without showing any signs of fatigue. When he won the Sivsagar seat, few had started to compare him with George Fernandes who too contested and won from behind the bars during the Emergency in a parliamentary election, not like Akhil Gogoi who was occupying a luxurious cabin in a government hospital. With the advent of by-polls in the State, he is now seen everywhere -from Kolkata to Delhi- meeting the top leaders of the Opposition to thwart BJP's victory in the 2024 parliamentary polls. It appears as if he is an indispensable part of the Opposition's to halt BJP's juggernaut. He has a trademark look with an unshaven beard and unkempt hair, an ordinary chappal, trousers and a sling bag across his shoulders.

First salary

Being economically self-reliant is wonderful. The people who say that money can't buy you happiness are wrong. If money can't buy you happiness, then why do the poor cry in hunger? We live in the 21st century, and this is not the time to be philosophical. When more than half of our population reels under poverty, we cannot afford to blurt out quotes like "Money can't buy you happiness". The word's "First Salary" rings a sweet tune in all of us. It means that we have reached that stage in life when life becomes "life". The life before that was just a trailer to get us excited for "life". I received my first salary this month that is a different feeling altogether. You feel like you can now discuss serious stuff with your father over a cup of tea. You feel grown-up and responsible. I am a wristwatch freak, and I own more than 12 pieces, but the one I bought with my own money this month will always be special. Gifting someone from your first salary is a different level of feel-good. The satisfaction you get from gifting someone you love from your first salary is unmatchable to anything in this world. We should always buy anything that makes us happy because we only live once.
