Introduction of 5G in capital

Mobile phone and internet connectivity have tremendously improved networking and reorganized our style of living. Mobile technology has influenced social relations, the education system, and business processes in our day-to-day life. The mobile phone has become an essential tool for all categories of people among all age groups.

With the introduction of 5G services in Guwahati, Assam, and Airtel customers can now experience ultrafast networks and high-speed internet in certain locations.

Whereas there are places even now wherein there is no mobile internet connection Chatemari village, located at Barkhetri block in the Nalbari district of Assam, still has no network connection. Even though the village is 2 km from state highway 2 it lacks network connectivity. It is difficult to get 2G connections or even a mobile network to make phone calls. The villagers went and complained several times in the Airtel office as Airtel connection is used widely in that area. Nowadays almost all services have been switched to online mode from paying electricity bills to attending educational classes, and proper connectivity of mobile networks has become crucial in day-to-day life. It is high time we pondered and gave serious consideration to rural areas like Chatemari.

Illegal banners & hoardings

During every festive season, be it Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, Diwali, Christmas or Eid, I am shocked to see images of our politicians alongside gods and goddesses. It is very shameful indeed! These banners and hoardings irritate us so much. It's high time we respected every religion. Garbage, sewage problems, bad roads, debris in streets, sick and homeless people... let the politicians and the Municipal Corporation focus on these issues. Banners and hoardings serve nothing except to inflate the ego of some people. Every political party, be it the Congress, the NCP, the Shiv Sena, the BJP, the AAP or the MNS, has not spared the country of illegal hoardings. The Municipal Corporation allows such banners to be put up because their officials are hand-in-glove with politicians.
