What a nickname!

The word ‘LAOXIAN’ in the Chinese language means ‘immortal’. Recently, while going through some news items in some popular English dailies of the state, I came to know that the Chinese have started calling our PM with a nickname ‘MODI LAOXIAN’ which means ‘Modi is immortal’.

Traffic Congestion

I would like to draw the attention of both the government bodies and the public toward the pathetic road condition of the city caused by various construction projects. As a resident of Maligaon, I am a witness to the daily hassle faced by commuters due to the ongoing flyover construction work and irregular traffic management.

From the last two years, it has become the sole reason of suffering for the people commuting through Maligaon. According to the PWD officers, traffic is inevitable in such a case, but it can be kept in control if proper measures are taken. As the traffic increases during the day time, all goods carrying vehicles should be allowed to move during night only. A few months before, an accident took place under the flyover due to lack of safety measures. Therefore, it’s preferable to continue all the construction works during night by closing the main path.

More traffic police should be appointed in the area to ensure proper traffic management. City buses should also be regulated and disciplined. Citizens should also maintain traffic rules and discipline while driving on the road.
