Make in India drive

We must applaud the people who are propagating boycott of Made in China products. This will indeed give a fillip to the Make in India and Make in Assam initiatives. We can start by doing away with the internet connection as it is based on Huawei technology or the laptop which has Intel chip made in Chi. The list is long. At present we can start with earthen lamps; but is this the way we plan to teach Chi a lesson? Starting from work culture to infrastructure there is a lot of catching up to do. We can do it, not by sound bytes or a tweet, but by hitting the ground. In Assam we dream big but execute little. If we have a dream we can make it happen, but we have to labour. Back to earthen lamps because that is where the competition begins for us.

Traffic Mece!

It is my earnest request to print and electronic media to highlight the mece created by vehicular traffic at PIBCO crossing point at Rukminigaon, during the day from 9-30 am to 9-30 pm. This has caused due to closure of some traffic crossing around that area. However, this is a matter of great regret. Media has highlighted that this owes to the public to draw attention to the traffic administration of Guwahati. Media should visit the site themselves to authenticate the issue.

Bangladesh under

Sheikh Hasi

Since Sheikh Hasi took the reins of Bangladesh as the Prime Minister, oppression on the minority Hindus started showing a declining trend. After the publication of the book 'Lajja' by Taslima sreen, when Sheikh Hasi was in exile, the image of Bangladesh was at dir. The tion was beleaguered; the fundamentalists and the religious bigots took the upper hand in running the government. Pakistan, attained independence, 69 years ago, with East Pakistan (Bangladesh) as its integral part; but gradually, people of East Pakistan started realizing how they were exploited by their counterparts in West Pakistan. The idea of West Pakistan freeing East Pakistan from their clutches dawned at the 'Mukti Yoddhas', like Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, under whose leadership, the struggle for emancipation continued. Ultimately, East Pakistan could be freed with the help of India in 1971. While all other leaders of Bangladesh proved perfidious, acting against India, always trying to destabilize India, Sheikh Hasi Wajed, the worthy daughter of Sheikh Mijubur Rahman, who had been brutally assassited by his rivals, built a bridge of friendship with India; during her regime the Hindus find a conducive atmosphere to live in.
