Monkey Menace

A troop of monkeys in many areas of Biswanath Chariali has been creating a lot of trouble. Monkeys in large numbers sit on roofs of houses, create high sound by jumping hither and thither. Even they enter houses and take away vegetables, fruits, rice, dal, etc. The menace has reached an alarming scale. It has become difficult for women to pass by as well as for residents to even hang out their cloths to dry outside. The monkeys pull off the cloths from clothesline and either take them away or tear them into pieces. No vegetables can be grown in compound due to their troubles. As such, I would like to request the civic authority as well as authorities concerned to look into the matter so that residents can be free from monkey menace and their atrocities. Further, the breeding of monkeys need to be controlled through sterilization.

Putul Sarma,

Biswanath Chariali.
