I came across the clarification presented by NHPC GM (HR-PR) regarding the safety of the dam.

Irrespective of the technicalities connected with the dam, the views of the local people must not be ignored as officials come only on posting basis, not for permanent stay.

Views from stakeholders must be accorded priority. The failure of the dam can spell catastrophic consequences. The strength of the dam should be enhanced and the outflow of the water should be channelized instead of repetition of the yearly event. The investment in the downstream areas should increase multifold as the power generated for the national grid to brighten the future of the nation is at the cost of the suffering of the downstream population. Tensile strength must be ascertained before bringing the project into a reality. Working with the heart will always yield positive results.

It is up to the organization to dispel fears from the minds of the locals by taking them into confidence and engaging them too for their inputs.
