Nuisance from Noise

I fully agree with the letter published in The Sentinel on 23rd November headlined ‘Noise pollution’. But I want to add some points in this connection. It is no doubt that noise pollution is one of the major problems in the cities. Of late, it has become a nuisance to people in rural areas as well as in semi urban areas too. I have no objection to loudspeakers in functions. But the volume of sound should be low so that senior citizens suffering from various ailments, particularly heart patients etc., as well as examinees are not affected. I would therefore like to request the authorities concerned to look into the matter and take appropriate measures to prevent noise pollution nuisance.
