Sarat Rai Barooah

GUWAHATI, February 25: Sri Sarat Rai Barooah, retired Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Government of Assam passed away on February 23, 2015. He was a man of learning and used to write regular articles in ‘Bahi’, an Assamese jourl.  He wrote a number of children’s books and translated Gyanpith Award winning Hindi novel ‘Raag Darbari’ into Assamese. He had settled in Hengrabari in Guwahati and was actively associated with local the ‘mghar’.

He leaves behind his wife and a daughter two sons.
