Omar Abdullah's declaration

Omar Abdullah, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) declared that he would never contest any election till the lost glory of J&K is restored. The abrogation of the status of a special state to J&K has since been effected with the abrogation of Article 370, a fact that irks Omar Abdullah beyond measure. Incidentally, Omar Abdulla maintained a look to the other side policy along with his father Sheikh Abdulla and another ex. Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti when the Kashmiri Pandits were tortured and killed by the Pakistan-sponsored terrorists compelling all the Kashmiri Pandits to flee Jammu & Kashmir, leaving their ancestral abode once and for all. Many political experts are of the view that all these three leaders had tacit blessings on the terrorists and that the conversion as Kashmir into a Muslim dominated state so that with the help of many pro-Pakistani elements Kashmir could be incorporate that apart, the fluttering of Pakistani flag here and there was a cause of worry for the Government of India. Perhaps these leaders forgot that immediately after independence Hari Singh, the then King of Kashmir opted for inclusion into the Indian Union by a treaty of accession. Everybody knows that the activities of the Pakistan-sponsored terrorists are on the wane considerably after certain efficacious steps had been taken by the Narendra Modi-led Union government. Instead of jumping at a conclusion we must analyse the sensitive issue of Kashmir judiciously.
