Online classes | 23 Apr, 2020

The ongoing pandemic crisis has badly affected the education sector and examinations are postponed until the situation becomes better. The policy makers have thus advised teachers to use online classes and mobile apps to reach out to students during the interim period of lockdown. The move is highly appreciable wherein students are able to connect to teachers virtually and engage themselves in study activities during the lockdown period and thus make optimum utilization of the time.

However, it should be noted that not many children and students can afford to connect to online classes and mobile apps which otherwise require an Internet connection mandatorily. A uniformity in reaching to student masses through a common popular medium is the need of the hour. The policy makers should now frame a detailed time table for classes I-V and VI-IX for both CBSE and State Boards and conduct classes regularly through television on national broadcaster, instead of re-telecasting mega serials. The broadcasting of live learning sessions on television will highly benefit even the students in the remotest parts of the country which otherwise is not possible through a virtual environment.
