Overlooking NE

Through your esteemed newspaper I want to express my views on mainstream media- how come they overlook the northeastern states. Each year, northeastern states witness devastating floods – killing hundreds of people and thousands of animals. Flood in Assam is even more dangerous than COVID-19 in Assam. Thousands of people are displaced due to floods. People take shelter on roads. But unfortunately, these are not the topics for prime time news in most of the so-called mainstream media. Maybe, this is because of the viewership in Northeast is lesser than they expect. They all are centred around only in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Uttar Pradesh. Isn't the crisis in the Northeast the crisis of mainland India or is it inconvenient to come to the Northeast? If it doesn't bother about the Northeast, then we should not call them mainstream media.
