Parking mece at  North Lakhimpur Town

Through your esteemed daily, we would like to highlight one of the basic problems of North Lakhimpur town. The uuthorized parking intertwined with the unruly behavior of auto-rickshaw drivers have been afflicting our neighborhood for years. We the residents of Tirtheswar Hazarika Road wish to state that the parking of auto-rickshaws in front of private residences on both sides of the road, from the Fountain point to Masjid Tiniali, is nothing short of a mece for its residents.

The fact of the matter is that the auto-rickshaw drivers create ruckus from morning till midnight. Hurling foul words at each other has become a routine affair. Every morning, the whole area is found to be littered with empty liquor bottles and other eatables. It is obvious that peace and tranquility of the place is being severely disturbed. Alas, all have been happening under the nose of the district administration!

We had lodged many complaints against uuthorized parking of auto-rickshaws in front of our houses to Superintendent of Police (SP), in the past, in writing. For a short period, the auto-rickshaws were shifted to their authorized stand near the Municipality office. However, the situation is back to square one. It seems the SP is blind to the public nuisance created by these hooligans. And this letter is an attempt to draw the attention of the authority concerned and the public on the aforementioned issue.
