Rise in COVID cases

The number of corona positive people in Assam is increasing at a fast rate as more people living in other parts of the country are returning to the State. As estimated by State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, around 10 lakh to 12 lakh people are to arrive in the State. As a large number of people of the State stranded in States like Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and New Delhi will be returning to Assam in the coming days, the number of COVID positive cases will rise further. The Assam Health Minister has appealed to the people living outside the State to defer their plan to return to the State considering the situation in Assam.

The fear of more people getting infected will definitely increase our responsibility to control the virus. Let us take a pledge to respect the sacrifice which the health workers, doctors and nurses are making. The Health Minister of the State is sleeping hardly for two to three hours for the last sixty days and is monitoring the situation.

Let us all make a habit to follow the guidelines issued by the government till medicines or vaccines for coronavirus are invented for our rescue from the pandemic. Let us change our habbit. When we cannot change a situation, it is wise to change ourselves.
