Support for Cash Policy

It is hardly surprising that there should be such a lot of orchestrated opposition to the demonetization initiative of Prime Minister rendra Modi. Apart from politicians who generally confine all transactions to cash, some media barons too had amassed a lot of black money that the Income Tax authorities had so far not been able to unearth or do anything about. The demonetization of high denomition currency notes that Prime Minister rendra Modi initiated has had many politicians screaming because Assembly elections are due in two or three States in the next few months, and politicians are not accustomed to making any transactions except in cash. Most important political leaders have been screaming against the demonetization move because they do not know what to do with their huge cash assets or how to deal with the sudden negation of such assets. The other major source of worry for political leaders is their ibility to drum up any real support for their opposition to the demonetization initiatives. This is because there has been overwhelming support for rendra Modi’s cash policy despite the inconvenience caused to people during the first few days. As we said earlier, this is a war against black money, and that any war entails a certain amount of hardship. World War II had caused a lot of hardship in several European countries for six years. But because the war had to be fought to a finish, no one was complaining about hardships or even death. The present war is one that does not entail death through bombings. And the majority of Indians have fully supported this war against black money that should have been waged decades ago.
