Under the guise of secularism

Under the guise of secularism

The fire of revolt against the CAB (now CAA- Citizenship Amendment Act) started from Assam and thereafter spread its tentacles in the rest of the country. Some of the violent protests against the controversial Act were witnessed in the state of West Bengal, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Kerela, apart from Assam. The Shaheen Bagh protest started from 15th December last year, is probably the longest silent ongoing protest in the country. But the day before the 71st Republic Day, a leading news channel of the country broke a news which send shocker across the state of Assam. In a video, one Sharjeel Islam, the mastermind of the Shaheen Bagh protest, was seen urging the fellow protesters to cut off Assam from the rest of the country. In his seditious speech he urged the people present to disturb the railway network connecting Assam. Apart from that he lied that our Muslim brothers and sisters are continuously massacred in the state. Definitely such speeches will have severe impact on some of the minds who are unaware of the situation in Assam. Our leading organizations spearheading the anti-CAA agitation in the state should be cautious or in guard such antinational elements. To be more candid, these antinational elements like Sharjeel Islam under the guise of secularism is trying to take advantage for their ulterior motives, and when they are caught or exposed they play the victim card behind the shield called secularism. The latest provocation of Sharjeel Islam in regards to Assam cannot be ignored as just one off incident, as proper and detailed investigations might expose Sharjeel 1, Sherjil 2, and others.
