Unhygienic surrounding

Through your esteemed daily, I would like to express my concern about irregular clearance of garbage near Gandhinagar cremation ground, Barpeta. The growing garbage predicament has made the lives of the people living here quite unbearable. The entire environment of the locality has become unhygienic.

The roads of the locality are filled with polythene bags and dirt. The overflowing pavements with heaps of waste during this rainy season worsen the condition. The uncollected garbage is left to rot and the air is filled with foul smell. This also results in serious health hazards. There are germs and insects breeding all through the locality and this is a cause of illness among the residents, especially the children.

If measures are not immediately taken for regular removal of garbage in the area, then the spread of diseases might rise to alarming proportions. I would request the authorities concerned to get the locality cleaned as soon as possible and provide garbage bin with a regular disposal of garbage.
