NEW DELHI: The 2022 National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission into medical undergraduate courses will be held on 17 July and the registration to apply in the NEET-UG will begin on Saturday 2nd April 2022.

The one-day written exam for NEET undergraduates for admission to medical courses and allied programmes will be held in 13 different languages.

According to sources, the candidates can do the online registration for the exam till 7th May 2022 and a 5-day correction window will be provided in between May.

The exam conducting body of NTA (National Testing Agency) informed that the exam schedule for NEET-UG 2022 will be notified on Thursday 31 March 2022.

A senior official at the NTA said that the exam date has been decided after consultations with the ministry of health, the education ministry and National Medical Commission.

Candidates must keep checking the official website of NEET NTA- neet.nta.nic.in. for more information regarding the upcoming test.

On Thursday 31 March, important updates about the NEET-UG 2002 examination will be uploaded on the official website.

This is the first time that the exam will be conducted without any upper age limit as the NMC (National Medical Commission) had removed the upper age limit which was earlier 25 for UR and 30 for reserved aspirants.

In the last NEET-UG exam held in 2021, a total of 16,14,777 candidates registered out of which 95.6 percent appeared in the examination and a total of 8,70,074 candidates passed the exam.

About 4 lakh candidates from the OBC category qualified for the NEET-UG and numbers of qualifying candidates close to 2.4 lakh were from the unreserved category.

Notably, the tally of female candidates qualifying for the test in 2021 was 1.19 lakh higher than the male candidates. These female candidates were the joint toppers with the prefect scoring of 720 marks.
