Manipur Technical University

About Us:

The Manipur Technical Institution (MTU) was created on April 23, 2016, under the "Manipur Technical University Act, 2016" as the state's first technical university (Manipur Act No.8 of 2016). It is listed on the UGC list of universities under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956 and is authorised to issue degrees through its departments under Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956. In due course, all technical institutions operating in the state will affiliate with MTU. Both in terms of infrastructural and human resource development, the institution has begun the process of capacity growth. It has put in enormous effort to transform it into a modern institution that incorporates all aspects of today's scientific and socio-cultural environment.

Electronics and Communication Engineering	In the year 2016, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was founded. This course was created with the goal of meeting industry needs in the field of Electronics Design, with a focus on the most recent technical advancements. With an intake of 30 students, the Department provides entry to a four-year B. Tech. programme.

National Sports University Manipur:

Manipur established the National Sports University (NSU) under the National Sports University Act, 2018 (No. 25 of 2018). The University is now operating from a makeshift campus in Imphal's Khuman Lampak Sports Complex. On the 16th of March 2018, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi lay the foundation stone for the University's projected 325-acre campus in Imphal West. The intended location is currently under development. NSU is India's first Central University dedicated to sports education, producing world-class athletes, sports scientists, and physical educators.
