NEW DELHI: The 67th National Awards are being given out today at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Celebrities attended the ceremony dressed in traditional attire. Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari missed the presence of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

'Chhichhore,' directed by Tiwari and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, was Sushant's most recent big-screen feature and received the Best Hindi Film award. The occasion was attended by Tiwari and Nadiadwala. The two talked lovingly of Sushant on the red carpet and dedicated the triumph to him.

Chhichhore is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari, written by Tiwari in collaboration with Piyush Gupta and Nikhil Mehrotra, and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, with distribution rights acquired by Fox Star Studios. With Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Naveen Polishetty, Tushar Pandey, and Saharsh Kumar Shukla in the lead roles and Shishir Sharma and Mohammad Samad in supporting roles. 

Chhichhore received critical acclaim for its directing, acting, social message, and representation of dorm life in Indian universities when it was released on September 6, 2019. It became a blockbuster after grossing $2.15 billion worldwide and winning the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 67th National Film Awards in 2021. It was also nominated for five Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Director (Tiwari), Best Story, Best Dialogue, and Best Editing.

Sushant Singh Rajput, aged 34 died by supposed suicide on 14th June 2020. several claims and charges were taken place in relation to his untimely death. The Bollywood industry had a setback following up with controversies stating the 'murder' of the star. The case remains unclosed till date, leaving fans of the late star with unlimited questions of his death.

Kangana Ranaut was dressed in a gorgeous saree. She won Best Actress for her roles in the films 'Manikarnika' and 'Panga.' Manoj Bajpayee, on the other hand, received the Best Actor award for his film 'Bhonsle,' while Dhanush received it for 'Asuran.'
