83 Trailer: Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev Leads Team India, Fans Gets Goosebumps And Tears

The trailer of the sports drama 83 directed by Kabir Khan starring Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev is out now. The film is based on a true story of the first-ever win of Team India in the World Cup in 1983.

The trailer of Ranveer Singh starred sports drama 83 has been made available now which is already gaining much love and attention from the audience.

The film 83 directed by Kabir Khan and written by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan is scheduled to release in theatres on 24 December.

The film shows Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles and Deepika appearing as Romi Bhatia who is the wife of then-captain Kapil Dev.

Other casts of 83 include Pankaj Tripathi as PR Man Singh the manager of the Team, Ammy Virk as Balvindar Singh Sandhu, Hardy Sandhu as Madan Lal, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath.

The story of the film represents the Indian team who were seen as underdogs but this team won the first-ever World Cup in 1983 playing against the West Indies, the reigning champions and defeating them. At that time people had no faith in the Indian cricket team and they never expected such a great win of the team in the World Cup.

The trailer video begins with the Indian team in the field and Ranveer Singh playing the role of Kapil organizing a press conference inviting reporters saying that the team is here to win. The trailer also shows the grand entry of West Indies for the World Cup and the loss of Team India.

Indian team is seen struggling and getting embarrassed every time with no one paying any attention to the team. Pankaj Tripathi playing the role of PR Man Singh as the manager of the Indian team says that India won independence 35 years ago but has not yet won the respect.

In the 4-minute trailer video, the 2nd part shows Team India making an excellent comeback as Kapil Dev hits one six after another and his wife Romi played by Deepika Padukone is seen supporting him outside the cricket field.

After the release of the 83 trailer fans are getting emotional about the win of Team India in 1983 and excited to watch the full movie on 24 December. Fans wrote on the comment section of the video in YouTube as "Goosebumps and tears, I am sure no one would able to hold their tears while seeing this trailer and the movie for sure" another user wrote "Literally had tears in my eyes after watching this trailer… Can't imagine how special this 1983 World Cup would have meant for them."
