Guwahati: Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan is all set to produce a film on the Indo-China stand-off and the resultant clash in Ladakh's Galwan Valley that left 20 Indian jawans dead. On June 15, 20 Indian soldiers sacrificed their lives while fighting their Chinese counterparts and their sacrifice has been hailed by India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a visit to Leh.

The clash in the Galwan valley in a contested area in Ladakh assumes extra significance as it is the first clash between Indian and Chinese troops which resulted in the loss of lives in 45 years.

Devgan's film will be co-produced by Ajay Devgan Films and Select Media Holdings LLP, although the cast has not yet been decided upon.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgan is all set to release his war film Bhuj: The Pride of India. The film will premiere on Disney + Hotstar soon and the Abhishek Dudhaiya-directorial is based on the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar, Ammy Virk, and Pranitha Subhash, among others. In the movie, Ajay Devgan plays the role of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who was in charge of the Bhuj airport during the war.

"The film is based on a true story. The story is about one day and one night. It tells this story of common people who rebuilt a road overnight to help the armed forces during the 1971 war. We need to have more stories of such bravery and valor", Ajay recently told the press.

This film was slated to release in theaters on August 14, 2020, but now it is being released on the OTT platform due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The theatrical release date is yet-to-be-announced.
