Alia Bhatt's philanthropic initiative is helping the needy in Karnataka

Alia Bhatt's philanthropic enterprise Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe in association with one fashion service, lighted up homes of 40 families at Kikkeri in the Mandya district of Karnataka. Alia Bhatt launched this initiative at the beginning of this year where fans were able to buy handpicked favorites from her personal closet solely for the purpose of charity.

The lighting up homes were done in collaboration with Liter of Light program that is run by a Bengaluru based Organization, AROHA. The association AROHA through this program recycles plastic bottles in order to provide solar lamps to the financially weaker communities that have no or very less access to electricity.

Bollywood actress, Alia Bhatt speaking about her initiative said "So many families in our Country live in darkness and Liter of Light's solar lamps are an innovative and sustainable way to lighten up homes. The organization works for the local communities through locally sourced materials to assemble and install the lamps. They have been empowering the economically backward communities at large in improving their quality of live. Our project will benefit 200 lives in Kikkeri and with Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe, we are planning to work with many other organizations to create a better and brighter future".

Worth mentioning, Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe is not the first step that the actor has done for the betterment of the society. Alia Bhatt always believes and speaks about eco-friendly and auctioned initiatives for human and animal welfare. She has even created a platform called, Coexist, which works to create awareness about ecological issues.

Best wishes Alia!
