Arshad Warsi To Make Web-Series Debut With 'Asura'

Arshad Warsi; made his Bollywood debut in 1996 with Tere Mere Sapne. His depiction of Circuit in the comedy film Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003), and its sequel Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006) won him the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role and marked a turning point in his career. He was featured in commercially successful movies like Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet (1999), Hulchul (2004), Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? (2005), Salaam Namaste (2005), Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006), Dhamaal (2007), Krazzy 4 (2008), Golmaal Returns (2008), Ishqiya (2010), Golmaal 3 (2010), F.A.L.T.U (2011), Double Dhamaal (2011), Jolly LLB (2013) and Golmaal Again(2017) and received critical recognition for his work in films including Sehar (2005), Kabul Express (2006), Dedh Ishqiya (2014) and Guddu Rangeela (2015). He is considered by many as one of the most under-rated actors in the Hindi film industry.

And now Arshad Warsi will be making his digital space debut with a web-series titled 'Asura'. This is a psychological thriller web series that will explore the world of forensic science against the mystical mythology of Benaras. As per reports Arshad will be playing the role of a forensic expert named Dhananjay Rajpoot. The actor was last seen in 'Golmaal Again'.

Confirming the news of Arshad’s role in the web-series; Monica Shergill, Content Head of Voot told DNA that it is a layered and thrilling character. To which a powerhouse performer like Arshad will take it to another level. We are excited to have him on Asura and he will surprise the audience with an anxious depiction.

His last movie 'Golmaal Again' was released on October 20, 2017. The movie that was helmed by Rohit Shetty was one of the highest opening grosses of the year. Also, this film became the first Hindi film to enter Rs 200 crore club in 2017.

Along with Warshi Ajay Devgn, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Parineeti Chopra, Tabu and Neil Nitin Mukesh in major roles.
