Assam's child actors win awards at international film fest

Assam has news to cheer about. Two child actors of Assam have won awards at the Golden Peacock International Film Festival. Shabnam Bargoyari won the Best Actress award while Kritartha Kanta Barua won the Best Supporting Actor award for the Assamese psychological thriller The Consequence at the Golden Peacock International Film Festival.

Assam has news to cheer about. Two child actors of Assam have won awards at the Golden Peacock International Film Festival. Shabnam Bargoyari won the Best Actress award while Kritartha Kanta Barua won the Best Supporting Actor award for the Assamese psychological thriller The Consequence at the Golden Peacock International Film Festival.

This film is based on the bad effects of video games. The story and screenplay has been written by Chandra Sekhar Das. He has also directed the film. It has been produced by AM Television and Dr Sanjib Narain.

The film depicts the story of a 12-year old girl brought up in a modern aristocratic family. The ignorance of her parents pushes her towards modern gadgets. She goes deep down in to the world of video games and slowly loses her normal life. As a consequence, anger, fear, physical deformity, behavioural and mental change takes place in her life. There comes a moment when she gets so engraved in a horror game and remains absent-minded most of the time. Thus, she loses her generosity, intelligence, presence of mind and all other good qualities.

Doctors fail to cure her disorder. As per doctor's suggestion, the father takes her to the countryside in order to live a normal life in the lap of nature. The inherent beauty of nature heals her mind and body and gradually she regains herself.

The film has won the Best Family Film award at the Urubhati International Film Festival, the Best Children Film award at the Andaman International Film Festival, the Best Family Feature Film award at the Indo French International Film Festival and the Best Debut Feature Film award at the Port Blair International Film Festival.

The film has also been selected for screening at the Megaflix International Film Festival, Mumbai International Film Festival and the Goa International Film Festival, stated a press release.
