Mumbai: Filmfare Awards have withdrawn Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's Best Actress nomination after she that they nominated her, promising her an award in the particular category over ''many phone calls.''

In this regard, Filmfare took the micro-blogging site Twitter and shared a lengthy statement, wherein, they dismissal all the allegations against them and claimed that they only contacted the actress to inform her about her nomination in the Best Actor in a leading role, Female category and sought her address to send the invitation of the awards ceremony.

"Given the irresponsible remarks made by Ms. Ranaut about Filmfare Awards, we are withdrawing her Best Actress nomination for the movie Thalaivii. We reserve all rights to pursue any legal action against her malicious and defamatory statements tarnishing our reputation and goodwill," read Filmfare's statement.

Now, in the latest development, Kangana has once again launched an attack on Filmfare and threatened to sue them.

"@filmfare has finally withdrawn my best actress nominations, thanks to everyone who supported me in this fight against a corrupt system but this doesn't stop me from taking legal action against them… my endeavor is to put an end to these unethical practices and stop such malicious award shows…see you in court @filmfare," she said while reacting to the statement from the Filmfare.

Recently, Kangana in an Insta story said that she has banned Filmfare since 2014. but I am getting many calls to attend their award ceremony this year. They want to give me an award for 'Thalaivi'. I don't want to encourage this kind of corrupt practice.

"I've banned unethical, corrupt, and totally unfair practices like @filmfare since 2014, but since I have been getting many calls from them for attending their award function this year as they want to give me an award for Thalaivii… I am shocked to know that they are still nominating me. It is beneath my dignity, work ethics, and value system to encourage such corrupt practices in any way, that is why I have decided to sue @filmfare… thanks," she wrote.

Interestingly, Kangana Ranaut has already been awarded four National Film Awards.

The actress will be seen in 'Emergency' where is playing the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Apart from Kangana, actress Mahima Chaudhary and actor Anupam Kher will too be seen in the film.
