2. Born in Families of performer: People are well aware that Lata is the sister of very talented Asha Bhosle but many have no idea that her entire family is a great performer. Her father used to run a theatre and both her elder sisters Usha and Meea are singers who are not much famous but recorded many Indian songs.

3. Ghulam Haider gave her the first break: Lataji got her first break from Bollywood famous film composer Ghulam Haider who later after partition moved to Lahore of Pakistan. Haider offered Lata to sing the song 'Dil Mera Toda' in 1948 for the film Majboor.
