Sohail Salim Abdul Rashid Khan, an Indian actor, screenwriter, filmmaker, and producer who primarily works in Hindi films, was born on December 20, 1970.

He is the younger brother of Salman Khan and the older brother of Arbaaz Khan. His older sister is Alvira Khan Agnihotri. His film producing firm is Sohail Khan Productions.

Khan was born to screenwriter Salim Khan and his wife Sushila Charak in Bombay, India. He is Salman Khan's and Arbaaz Khan's younger brother. His parents are a Muslim from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and a Maharashtrian from Mumbai.

Helen, Salim Khan's second wife, is Salim Khan's stepmother. Salman and Arbaaz Khan, his older brothers, are married to actress, VJ, and presenter Malaika Arora.

His older sister, Alvira Khan, is married to Bollywood filmmaker Atul Agnihotri, while his younger sister, Arpita Khan, worked with Sneha Ullal on a film that he produced with Sohail Khan Productions. Arpita Sharma is married to Aayush Sharma, a Bollywood actor.

Khan began his career as a film producer and director with the 1997 action movie Auzaar, starring his brother Salman and Sanjay Kapoor. He directed both of his brothers Salman and Arbaaz in the flicks Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998) and the less successful Hello Brother (1998) under his old label "G.S. Entertainment" (1999).

Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, in which he wrote, produced, directed, and performed, was a modest box office hit in 2002. He went on to feature in a few more films, none of which were particularly successful commercially. His first huge hit was Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? (2005), in which he co-starred alongside his brother Salman Khan.

He also co-wrote, produced, and starred in Fight Club - Members Only, a multi-starrer that tanked at the box office yet again. Due to a delayed-release, his boxing drama Aryan, for which he was hailed for his performance, did not do well in 2006. Partner, a film featuring his brother Salman Khan and Govinda, as well as Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif as their love interests, was released in 2007.

Khan has also organised live stage performances in India and throughout the world with other Indian film stars. With Rishi Vohra's Chehre Pe Chehra, his company also produced music videos and even delved into television. In 2008, he appeared in the films Hello and Heroes. In 2009, he starred in Kisaan alongside his brother Arbaaz, as well as Main Aur Mrs Khanna and Do Knot Disturb. In 2010, he co-starred in the film Veer with his brother Salman, which was released on January 22, 2010.
