Demi Lovato Addresses Fans for First Time with Thank you Message after Drug Overdose

Grammy-nominated American singer and songwriter Demi Lovato was taken to the hospital after drugs overdose from her residence in Hollywood Hills two weeks back. As the news of her rushing to the hospital broke, her fans poured their love and support for the singer.

Demi Lovato, after her recovery, has broken the silence by posting a statement to Instagram on Sunday where she thanked her family, fans, doctors, and God for their support, while also pledging and is saying that she will keep fighting.

‘They have always been apparent about my journey with addiction’ the 25-year-old singer said. “ I have known is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something that I have to continue in order to overcome and have not done yet.”

While talking to her friends she said, “I am forever grateful for all of your love and support throughout this past week. The positive thoughts and prayers have helped me to find the way through this difficult time.”

It may be mentioned that Lovato was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital July 24 after authorities responded to an incident at her Hollywood Hills home. While a representative confirmed that Lovato was awake and with her family.

Lovato was suffering from bulimia and bipolar disorder and she has fought substance abuse for years . The Tell Me You Love Me singer celebrated six years of abstinence this past March, but fans started keeping an eye on her alcohol consumption that when started drinking again after a photo emerged of her appearing to hold an alcoholic beverage. And the singer she responded to it as “I don’t have to protect anything but it was Red Bull.”

Demi Lovato has released a song in late June called ‘Sober’ in which she revealed through its lyrics that she fell off the carriage. She said that “Mama, I’m so sorry for I’m not sober anymore. Daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor,” she sang in the song.

“To the one’s who never left me, we have been down this road before. I am so sorry. I’m not sober anymore.”

In her Instagram post last Sunday, Lovato said of moving forward.

She posted that now she needs time to heal and focus on her sobriety and on her road to recovery. The singer cum actor added, “The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I shall look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side.”
