Dhadak, the Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster "Sairat" released in cinamas today. The film is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios. The musical tragic romantic film features Ishaan Khatter and Ashutosh Rana in lead role and also introduced Sridevi's daughter, Janhavi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar, who is Shahid Kapoor's half-brother and was first seen in Beyond the Clouds.
The music of the film is composed by Ajay Atul and background score is composed by John Stewart Eduri while the lyrics were written by Amitabh Bhttacharya. The title track of Dhadak is sung by Ajay Gogavale and Shreya Ghoshal. The music album of the film was released by Zee Music Comapny on july11.
The film story is depicting the caste difference prevailing on Indian society. In the story, Ishaan acted as Madhukar and Janhvi acted as Parthavi. Madhukar and Parthavi fall in love with each other, but they belong to different castes of society. The caste difference became obstacles in their love life still they dare to go against the societal norms and fight for the sake of their love.
As the audience will get to see Sridevi's daughter, Janhavi Kapoor on big screen for the first time, the film is expects to hit the box office. Tushar Joshi of Bollywood life reviewed this movie with 4 star and stated Dhadak as a beautiful homage to Sairat. He pointed out that The performance of places faltered. There are scene where Jahanvi gets out of the character while delivering her dialogue and the same holds for Ishaan where Rajasthani dialect goes missing.
Jahavi's screen presentation is admirable and she has an old world charm, stated by Pinkvilla.
