Mouni Roy made her Bollywood debut with “Gold” and has said that she was delighted with the audience's overwhelming response to her film that released earlier this week. Mouni while interacting with the media said thus at a photo shoot on Friday in Mumbai.
Mouni plays Akshay Kumar’s wife in 'Gold', a sports drama that revolves around hockey. The film which released on Independence Day has managed to collect Rs 33.25 crore in the first two days of its release.
“I feel elated, excited and very happy with the audience's response to the film. Our film has released only two days ago so we will get a clear picture of its box-office performance at the end of this week. Therefore, I don’t want to jinx things by getting over-excited. When it goes on to become successful, then I will be very happy and thankful for it,” the actress said.
Mouni Roy is best known for playing Sati in the mythological series 'Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev' and after that as ‘Shivanya Ritik Singh’ and ‘Shivangi Rocky Pratap Singh’ in the popular serial Naagin.
Mouni Roy was a contestant and finalist of the popular dancing show of Colors TV Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2014.
The movie is an Indian historical sports-drama film on Hockey, directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. It also stars Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh, and Sunny Kaushal along with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar.
