Mumbai: Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Basu's latest film Ludo was released on Netflix on November 12.

Eversince the release of the movie, the dark-comedy-crime has received many positive reviews from critics and viewers alike. While there were people who praised the anthology, a section of the society was certainly unhappy with a few aspects of the film.

Several netizens took to Twitter and expressed their anger against filmmaker Anurag Basu for allegedly hurting 'religious sentiments'.

'Hinduphobic Anurag Basu' began to trend on Twitter and accused him of demeaning a Ramleela scene starring Rajkumar Rao.

The scene features Rajkumar Rao as Lanka king Ravana's sister 'Suparnakha' and her encounter with Lord Rama.

The dark comedy anthology features Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkummar Rao, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Rohit Saraf, Pearle Maaney, Pankaj Tripathi, Asha Negi, Shalini Vats and Inayat Verma.

Earlier, Basu said in an interview that the idea was to create an absurd, whimsical world and characters. He wanted to create something that combined four-five genres together.

The movie borrows the four colours of the game Ludo, each shade dominating a different segment.
