Ghostbusters' new franchise titled 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' has been released online on Tuesday 4 January and is available to watch the OTT platforms.

The movie was released in theatres on 19 November last year and earned 176 million dollars at the box office. It has been now streamed on digital platforms of Amazon Prime Video, Vedu, Apple TV, Microsoft Movies and other retailers' online platforms.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is directed by Jason Reitman and also written by him along with Gil Kenan. The 2hour 4 minutes film has been produced by production companies The Montecito Picture Company, Columbia Pictures, Right of Way Films, Bron Creative and Ghost Corps.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a direct sequel to earlier franchises 'Ghostbusters' in 1984 and 'Ghostbusters II' in 1989. The new comedy fantasy film passes the torch to the younger generation and gives a feeling of nostalgia.

The film cast Carrie Coon who plays the role of mother, Mckenna Grace and Fin Wolfhard appears as the two kids of Carrie. Other cast members included the returning faces from the main 1984 Ghostbusters Annie Potts, Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson.

The faces that created the new generation of Ghostbusters are Logan Kim, Tracy Letts, Paul Rudd, Bokeem Woodbine and J.K Simmons. The third franchise is made after 32 years of Ghostbusters II.

The main story of 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' revolves around the mother and her two kids settling in the new town and discovering their connection with the original Ghostbusters squad. The trio also found the unknown secret inherited legacy that their grandfather Ramis Egon Spengler had left behind.

The director Jason Reitman has trout out all the famous dialogues, characters, laughing elements and emotions from the 1984 original Ghostbusters directed by his father Ivan Reitman who is now the producer. The film depicted the late Harold Ramis towards the end which seems to be cringe-worthy.
