Oscars 2022: Celebs Required to Show Vaccination Proof; Negative RT-PCR Mandatory for All

When the Oscars revealed last week that there will be no COVID vaccine requirement for the Oscars in March, the outcry was immediate.

As a result, the organization's guidelines for the future event have been amended, the 94th Oscars will be in March, and it has already been stated that COVID-19 vaccines will not be required for the ceremony.

However, for nominees and guests attending the Awards, evidence of vaccination and two negative RT-PCR will be mandatory.

Performers and presenters at the film industry's top accolades must also undergo polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing but will not be mandatory to produce vaccination certificates.

It was also stated that about 2,500 attendees would be permitted to proceed without masks, but others in more crowded areas would stay disguised.

As the Oscar television ratings decrease year after year, star power becomes increasingly important. Unvaccinated celebrities skipping the Oscars might be especially troublesome if it disrupts long-standing Oscar traditions, like previous year's acting winners giving Oscars in their respective categories.

Oscar's nominations were declared in February.

Andrew Garfield was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role with Javier Bardem, Benedict Cumberbatch, Will Smith, and Denzel Washington.

Many states are lifting COVID restrictions as Omicron instances continue to diminish and public health experts indicate that the worst of the outbreak is over. As the number of Covid cases in the LA region decreases, additional prominent corporations and events are loosening their Covid restrictions.
