The very popular documentary series House of secrets: The Burari deaths have been released on Netflix on 8th October. It was the first documentary of director Leena Yadav with co-director Anubhav Chopra and the streaming platforms has led to the great success of the series as watched by many. The series has three parts and such a documentary with real-life incidents catches much attention mainly for making it for OTT.

The whole documentary with an intense subject is based on a very mysterious incident that took place about 3 years ago which remained unexplained. The incident occurred in New Delhi in an area called the Burari area where eleven members of a family named the Chundawat family were found dead. The death of these members of the family has been very shocking news for the whole country and it provides lead to many conspiracies.

As the incident became very much heard and notable one director Leena Yadav came across this incident and got inspired to develop a documentary with the incident as a subject which would be her first documentary i.e. House of secrets: The Burari deaths. The story featuring AR Rahman in the background shows the concept of an Indian family and their tradition that are sometimes hidden. It tries to explain all the psychological and sociological aspects of the incident that was once the headlines of many newspapers in the year 2018. Leena Yadav was not really satisfied with the information she had about the case while asking for a subject by Netflix but it was the top story in her mind therefore she decided to find out all the facts about the particular case.

The documentary explains the situation where 11 dead bodies were discovered hanging in north Delhi in a living room of a house. The bodies were found by the neighbours when they thought that something is wrong and confusing in that house so they informed the police. Locals have surrounded the place to have a look of the bizarre crime and Arvind Kejriwal CM of Delhi reached the crime scene just an hour later after hearing the news. Leena Yadav and Anubahv Chopra made their focus mainly on the neighbours, the investigators who investigated the case, the friends and other close relatives. The case is now a closed case but the documentary House of Secrets doesn't investigate the incident but tries to develops the discussions around it. The show basically surrounds in the situations where the son Lalit of the late father claims that he is possessed by the spirit of his father, his wife being literally subjugated shows miracles and the family keep their domestic matter as a secret. It focuses on highlighting the patriarchal role in the deaths of the Burari and according to a clinical hypnotherapist in the show the final episodes were more rewarding.
